Greetings on this Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost.

In the Gospel passage from Matthew, Chapter 21, Verses 23-32, Jesus enters the temple and engages in an intellectual passage in which Jesus uses a parable about two sons and a father to determine whether we as disciples of Christ are doing God's will.

Coffee Hour Hosts

Our hosts for Coffee & Fellowship are Sharon, Tara & Kaydance Harrietha.  Please sign up on the bulletin board in the hallway if you are able to host Coffee and Fellowship for Oct/Nov/Dec.  We appreciate you helping with this Ministry.  Thank you to all who host the coffee and fellowship hours throughout the year.  

Wednesday Holy Communion Service - Wednesday, September 30th, 10:00 am. Church Service is still on this day.  

Let's Talk About Grief - is cancelled on September 30th.   

Office Hours:  The Office is open Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and Friday, 9:00 am – 11:30 am.

Financial Givings to the Church

The following are ways of giving financially to the Church:

The Giving Tree  

For the month of October the Giving Tree will be supporting Outreach For Hunger as so many people who have in the past supported them, now find themselves reaching out for support themselves.  So many of our community members are hurting right now.  Here is a list of items they need most:

Non-perishables:  Apple juice, orange juice, canned fruit, instant coffee, oatmeal, pancake mix, pancake syrup, rice and rice mixes.

Personal Hygiene Products:  Deodorants, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, and toothbrushes.

Baby Products:  Diaper cream, shampoo, and baby lotion.

Please be advised that portions of the Worship services are sometimes taped or photographed and placed on our Facebook or Website.  If you do not wish to be recorded or photographed, please advise a Warden, Rev. John or the Church office.

Upcoming Events

Annual Memorial Garden Service - is this Sunday, September 27th at 2:00 pm.

Cash/Gift Cards - (Orders due First Friday of the Month) - Friday, October 2nd.

Please submit your orders to Vicki V. or to the Church Office Mail Box by 11:30 am on the scheduled Friday.  You receive the full value of the card and the Church receives a percentage from the value of cards purchased towards our operating fund.

Please note: Loblaws cards (used at the Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills) is appreciated towards the Little Food Pantry and/or Monday Bag Lunch Program.  You purchase the card(s), donate to the church, and the value is added to your yearly contribution on your tax slip.  We thank you for your ongoing support.

 Pop Can Sundays – (first Sunday of each month) - Sunday, October 4th.   Bring your empty aluminum cans in a tied bag (beer cans to be separate).  We are now accepting empty wine and liquor bottles for recycling.  Please place all in the bin just inside the back door of  the Sanctuary.  Thank you for supporting this project.

Men’s Breakfast - (3rd Friday of the month).  8:00 am -  Friday, October 16th  at Hungry Man’s Restaurant, Keil Drive.

Roast Beef Supper - Friday, September 25.  One Seating at 5:00 pm. Doors open at 4:45 pm.  Cut off date to purchase tickets was Friday, Sept. 18th. There will be no tickets at the door.  Thank you to all who purchased tickets.

Christmas Bazaar Saturday - November 28th - 10 am to 2 pm  - We are looking for donations of items for our Bazaar.  You could assist by donating items for our White Elephant table, providing some of your great baked goods, canning/preserves/jellies or jams.  Books are another item which can be donated.  Show us your homemade Christmas items (knitting, crocheting, etc.).  We are also accepting slightly used Christmas decorations.  Items can be brought in to the office and will be stored for the Bazaar.  Thank you for your consideration.  

Lunch will be available for purchase on the day of the Bazaar.  Dessert/Beverage $5.00 or Soup/Sandwich/Dessert/Beverage $10.00.  

Remembrance Day Vigil - November 10th - 9 am to 7 pm and November 11th - 8 am to 10 am - Christ Church will again be hosting the Remembrance Day Vigil.  Please contact the office if you with to book a one-hour slot to stand vigil at the Cenotaph on King Street.

La Posada - Frday, December 11th, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm - Come join us for this Mexican tradition!  Starting with prayers and music in the sanctuary, a candlelit walk with candles/flashlights.  Bring your favourite Mexican inspired dish to share.  There will be the traditional breaking of a pinata.  Fun will be had by all?  Come join us!

Please save your Empty Paper Towel Rolls (please tear off loose pieces of towel to assist with crafts) and Egg Cartons (no toilet paper rolls please), large round margarine and large cool whip continers once again and place them in the container at the back of the church. It would be appreciated that we only accept clean cartons inside without broken eggshells and egg residue.  The cartons are used to hold individual paints for crafts.  These have come in so handy for the crafts at summer camp for chidren held at John McGregor School.  Your continuation is greatly appreciated and helpful throughout the year.  Thank you!

2027 Church Calendars - are now available at $8.00 in the office.  Please call ahead to reserve as there is a limited amount of calendars.
