Need Extra Help Around the Home?

There are many students in Chatham-Kent who are willing to work on an
on-call basis for private homeowners. If you have unfinished tasks or
"Odd Jobs" around your home, or are interested in hiring a student to assist
you in your household chores, outdoor work, childcare, or any other task,
please contact the Service Canada Centre for Youth in Chatham, and they
can refer you to a hard-working and enthusiastic youth who is looking for
work. Call 519-380-6836 to Hire a Youth today.

The Anglican Journal / Huron church News

If you do not receive The Anglican Journal/Huron Church News and
would like to, please submit your name and address to the church office.
We will send it to the publishers and you will start to get this publication.
This is free of charge.

Faithbook

The first Faithbook session has been completed, and we've stopped for the summer. It was enjoyed by all who came. The next Faithbook session will begin in the fall. Join us then for a time of fellowship and learning.

Bags for Sunday School

Again, the Sunday School is asking volunteers to make reusable cloth bags
for Outreach for Hunger. Our next campaign is during the month of
November, so we would need them by October 31st. If you are able to
help, please contact Vicki Vanderiviere, 519-351-7297, or by email at
keith.vanderivere@sympatico.ca. Material will be provided if necessary.
Thank-you.

Church Bazaar

There will be another Church Bazaar this year, in November.
Please keep this in mind as you do up any pickles, jams, etc.
We are asking some to be donated for the sale. Other ideas we have
are bake table, book table, "gently used" table, Christmas Decorations
table, baby stuff table, miscellaneous table.

If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see at the Bazaar,
please let Leslynn Flegel or Linda Deline know. With your donations, please
put a suggested price on the item. We may or may not keep the price, but we
do need a guideline, as there are items that the committee does not have
any idea of the costs involved.
Thank you for your consideration

How You Can Help the People of Haiti

Canadian Anglicans are offering support to the earthquake response via
Anglicans in Canada International (ACT) through the Primate's World
Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF). PWRDF has sent an initial
grant of $15,000 for ACT's Rapid Response Program, an ecumenical
effort that is made up of churches and humanitarian organizations.
ACT members - Christian Aid, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, Lutheran
World Federation, and Interchurch Organisation for Development
Corporation - are already on the ground providing relief in Haiti, and
being funded by PWRDF and other member churches thanks to the
generous donations from Anglicans in Canada. Additional donations to
Haiti relief will increase PWRDF's grant to ACT International.
Donations made by individual Canadians over the period of January 12 -
February 12, 2010, will be matched by the Government of Canada
through the CIDA-managed Haiti Earthquake Relief fund.

We will access these funds in cooperation with other Canadian churches
as we have in the past. Please watch for updates on PWRDF's response to
the Haiti earthquake at http://www.pwrdf.org/.

Donations can be made in the following ways:

On-Line
Go to http://www.canadahelps.org and type in PWDRF, which will take you to
the donation page where you can designate "Haiti earthquake."

By Phone
For credit card donations contact Jennifer Brown, 1-866-308-7973 or
directly at 416-924-9192, ext: 320
